Dave bought his R53 Mini completely stock and unmolested back in 2017 to join his friends on track!
After getting the track day bug quite severely the changes and developments began and was known in the mini community as "Mayo" due to the reg being MYO
After going through several changes of bolt on mods, mapping and adding lightness with GRP panels and the usual interior removals, Dave decided to go down the route of turbo conversion and ended up having his first go at competing and joined the Time Attack series 2022 in Pocket Rocket class.
At the end of the 2022 season, the decision was made to turn attention to some "bodged jobs" over the years including the wiring and dealing with some rust and rough areas.
As with all plans this escalated some what to how the car sits today:
- Full standalone electrical system from Ecu Master including PDM, ECU, Dash and a comprehensive suite of accessories for monitoring
- Carbon Fiber panels including doors, roof, roof scoop, rear quarters and wing. The most impressive bit of all of this is these have been made at home in his small garage!
- Standalone fuel system from Nuke Performance and Aero Tec Laboratories
